Research and compare competitor products—onboarding, pricing, features, positioning

Requirements
Competitor names (1-5) to analyze. Optional: specific focus areas (onboarding, pricing, features).
2

Gather context from the user:

  • Which competitors should we analyze? (1-5 names)
  • What aspects are most important? (onboarding, pricing, features, positioning)
  • Any specific questions or concerns about these competitors?

Check stateProjects for existing product context and competitor notes.

Use skillExa Research to research each competitor:

For each competitor, search:

  1. "[competitor] pricing tiers plans"
  2. "[competitor] onboarding flow user experience"
  3. "[competitor] vs alternatives comparison"
  4. "[competitor] product features capabilities"
  5. "[competitor] G2 reviews strengths weaknesses"

Look for:

  • Pricing pages and tier breakdowns
  • Product teardowns and reviews
  • User experience analyses
  • Feature comparison articles
  • Customer reviews mentioning strengths/weaknesses
4

Synthesize findings into the Competitor Analysis format:

  1. Comparison matrix across key dimensions
  2. Detailed analysis per competitor (positioning, onboarding, pricing, strengths, weaknesses)
  3. Opportunities for differentiation
  4. Threats to address

Include screenshots or links to key pages when available.
Note confidence level—some info may be inferred from indirect sources.

5

Save competitive intelligence to stateCompany Directory for each
competitor analyzed. Create or update company profiles with:

  • Positioning, strengths, weaknesses
  • Pricing tier summary
  • Source: "Competitor research {date}"

Also update stateProjects with competitive landscape summary.

Ask if they want to dive deeper into any specific competitor or dimension.
